EPX Animation and Gaming Conference provides the Midwest a weekend of networking, demo-ing, and technical training from industry experts in animation and game design.  These professionals – artists, writers, programmers, animators – speak about their experiences in their respective fields, share their previous or upcoming work, and give advice for those who want to pursue a similar career path.

What I achieved

  • New sponsor acquisitions in 2013 tripled the event budget and created new partnerships across campus.
  • Increased event offerings from four hours of programming in 2012 to 14 hours of programming in 2016.
  • Increased event attendance from 60 ppl in 2012 to over 350 ppl in 2015.
  • Demographics of attendees in 2015 showed representation from 7 midwest states. Consistent event growth was due to numerous online and integrated marketing campaigns including social media, news, poster, radio across the midwest.
  • EPXCON was expanded in 2014 to include exhibitors in the Interactive Play Lounge, a space for students, independent creators, local companies, and organizations to promote their own digital interactive projects.
  • Downstream impact with EPXCON resulted in numerous opportunities for the student organization including internship placements, ongoing event funding, advanced training, and new collaborations.

The talks, interactive play lounge, and social hour were very well structured. I learned SO much! I met so many interesting people, made new friends, and learned how the pro’s in the industry got to where they are today.
