Campus Academic Strategies and Technologies Conference

Committee Chair Lead (2013-2016)

Since 2007, 4CAST draws faculty and lecturers together each January to examine how learning technologies can be leveraged to engage students, make connections between instructors and support staff, and identify educational potential in new technology.

4cast breakout

What I achieved

  • Attendee satisfaction reported at record highs and feedback from attendees called 4CAST the "go-to event of the year".
  • Launched short promotional animations/videos to address inquiries about breakout session, an idea borrowed from SIGGRAPH's "fast forward".
  • Online and social media growth including the launch of a live tweet feed in 2014 showed increased attendee engagement and engagement with peer institutes.
  • New targeted marketing campaigns in 2015 resulted in 1) reaching capacity seating within two weeks of opening registration- setting a new record and 2) higher concentration of tenured-track faculty from across 10 colleges.
  • Set strategic planning priorities for 4CAST 2014-2016 as committee lead.
  • Trained and managed operational staff (appx. 20 volunteers).
  • Managed budget, food ordering, travel.
  • Received SPOT Performance Award for staff excellence on this project (Jan 2015).
